Lilo went in for her monthly check up over the weekend. Even Lilo knows the routine, measure her weight, take her temperature, draw some blood, then outside to get urine sample.
Dr. Parrish over at Hickory Ridge Animal Hospital called this morning and gave us some good news. Lilo's urine has no glucose!! and her potassium and bicarb levels are normal too. Her renal levels is high, but within the normal range. It seems like Lilo's kidneys are healing. She will continue her current treatment, which includes 6 bicarbonate pills and 4 potassium chloride pills. Dr. Parrish will discuss the results with Dr. Klaser, and they will decide what to do next. But it sounds like we can switch the monthly check up to every few months. Lilo and Gizmo have their annual checkup in January, so it won't be long before we are back to see Dr. Parrish again :)
